Warranty claims

The statutory warranty covers defects that appear within two years of delivery of the goods. A commercial guarantee offered by the seller or manufacturer is additional to the statutory warranty and may not reduce it.

A warranty claim shall be notified to the seller within two months of the consumer discovering the defect. The notification may be made in any durable form, and the seller shall acknowledge receipt in writing stating the date of the claim.

The seller may not require the consumer to deal directly with the manufacturer, to produce the original packaging, or to pay a handling fee as a condition of examining a warranty claim.
